Student Council

Student Council is a group of students who apply and are accepted into it. These students represent the student body to help share student concerns and ideas. They also make decisions on how student funds are spent. Student council is involved in a variety of events with in the school as well as outside of the school.

Some events we are involved in are the Silver City Day Parade, the winter school dance, and running the concession stand at most sporting events.

We usually have a fundraiser each year to support a cause, such as pennies for patients. We have done this one the last 5 years to help raise money for leukemia cancer research. During the Month of February, we plan activities for students and staff to participate in to help raise money.

Student Council votes on how the student funds are spent throughout the school year. Last year we helped choir get t shirts, cover field trips for classes, and provide gifts for teachers.

Stuco also tallies and collect votes for teacher of the month. Students get to vote on which teacher they best feels fits the character trait of the month. You can see the winners from last year in the hallway across from the office.

These students are role models that give the student body of Argentine Middle School a voice to make a positive impact on our school and community. They brainstorm, plan and organize student and community activities, so keep an eye on the Argentine Middle School Facebook page for advertisements for those activities!
